Vision and Values
Our Vision
Learn. Grow. Love.
Our Mission
To create a loving, kind environment where every child is empowered to achieve success and flourish.
Our Christian Values
Respect • Optimism • Wisdom • Determination • Enthusiasm • Love
At Rowde C of E Primary Academy, everything we do is centred around our vision to Learn, Grow and Love. We believe every child, every member of staff and every family is part of our school community and we are committed to nurturing, supporting and inspiring everyone to flourish.
Our Christian vision is rooted in Jesus' Parable of the Mustard Seed (Matthew 13:31–32). Although the mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds, when it is nurtured it grows into a strong tree that provides shelter for others. This reminds us that every child has unique gifts and enormous potential. With love, encouragement, challenge and God's guidance, every child can grow in confidence, wisdom and character, developing the knowledge and skills they need to flourish both now and in the future.
Just as the mustard tree grows strong enough for birds to rest safely among its branches, we strive to create a school where everyone feels welcomed, valued and loved. We believe that every child can succeed, regardless of their starting point, and that every individual has an important contribution to make to our school community and the wider world.
Our vision shapes every aspect of school life. We are committed to developing happy, confident young people with enquiring minds, a love of learning and a deep respect for themselves, for others and for God's world. Through a broad and ambitious curriculum, high expectations and a culture of belonging, we help our children develop the resilience, compassion and adaptability they need to thrive in secondary school and beyond.
Our six Christian values bring our vision to life each day. They are explicitly taught, modelled by adults and woven throughout our curriculum, collective worship and daily interactions. To help even our youngest children understand what these values look like in action, each is connected to a Bible story that we return to throughout the year.
- Respect – The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37)
- Optimism – Jesus Heals Jairus' Daughter (Mark 5:21–43)
- Wisdom – The Wise and Foolish Builders (Matthew 7:24–27)
- Determination – The Paralysed Man (Mark 2:1–12)
- Enthusiasm – The Coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:1–13)
- Love – Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet (John 13:1–17)
Together, our vision, mission and values create a school where children are inspired to learn with curiosity, grow with confidence and love with compassion. They guide every decision we make and every relationship we build, ensuring that Rowde is a place where everyone can flourish.
